FYI - parking is NOT FREE and NOT easy for anyone unfamiliar with the area. Sure there are two 30 min free lots nearby… but I wanted to go for a 6 hour ride & park my car for the whole time. So … how much would parking cost me for 6hrs … and how would I know this information if I’m coming from out of town? I’m amazed at how hard it is to rent a bike in the entire greater Sacramento area. Especially on a M, T or W when all but 1 of the 5 rental places in the whole city are closed. Come on Sac...
Without a bad conscience, I can recommend trips with Peak Adventures to anyone interested in outdoor trips! I'm an international student from Germany who doesn't have a car. Therefore, I was looking for cheap and good opportunities to see places in California, go for hikes and meet new people. Peak Adventures accelerated my expectations by far. I love how literally every staff member is super lovely and fun. They take "leave no trace behind" seriously and educate participants to a certain l...
Look no further when trying a new outdoor adventure than with Peak Adventures! You are well taken care of by all of the trip staff/guides. It is a great way to get some sunshine or just an ego boost from being outdoors. Amazing way to meet some great well diverse people around Sac State. Been on hiking, whitewater rafting, Arches National Park a week long camping/road trip, and Yosemite National Park camping trip. All trips were incredible life changing experiences :))
This is the place to rent snowshoes! You get four days for the same price that other places charge for one day. They also rent out MSR Denali Evo which are some of the lightest snowshoes on the market. Keep in mind, they don't have heel lifts, so they're not intended for ascending. The shop is located on Sac State's campus, but parking was easy with the multiple 30 minute spots within short walking distance. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall, great experience! By the way,...
I came in looking to purchase a bike. They were very busy. Ren, one of the bike mechanics, saw me waiting and asked what he can do to help me. He was very knowledgable, understanding, and patient. I could tell that bikes are a labor of love for this guy. Ill be placing an order for a new Surly soon. Update: I came back in today and worked with the manager, Laura. The love and enjoyment of biking that the staff have is absolutely infectious — you can’t help but feel inspired talking with them...
