What RoostMode Is
RoostMode is an independent resource covering e-bikes, electric dirt bikes, and electric motorcycles. We publish buying guides, head-to-head comparisons, how-to guides, and maintain a dealer directory with over 1,600 shops across the United States.
The site exists because most e-bike content online is either thinly rewritten spec sheets or affiliate-driven "top 10" lists where rankings follow commission rates. We think riders deserve better than that.
How We Evaluate Products
We do not accept payment for rankings or placement. When we recommend a product, it is because we believe it delivers real value for the price, not because a brand paid for the spot.
- Specs are a starting point, not the answer. We look at motor type, battery capacity, and components, but we weigh real-world factors like parts availability, warranty execution, and long-term reliability just as heavily.
- We call out tradeoffs. Every e-bike has them. Weight vs. range, power vs. price, features vs. simplicity. We lay those out honestly instead of pretending there is a single "best" option.
- We verify claims. Manufacturer range numbers, weight specs, and feature claims are checked against owner reports, forum feedback, and where possible, our own measurements. When the marketing does not match reality, we say so.
Our Editorial Process
Every guide and comparison on RoostMode goes through a structured process:
- Research: We pull specs from manufacturer sources, cross-reference with owner reviews, forums, and repair shop feedback. For our dealer directory, data comes from official brand dealer locators, not scraped listings.
- Writing: Content is written with a focus on practical ownership value. We prioritize information that helps you make a decision or maintain your ride, not filler text for word count.
- Fact-checking: Pricing, specs, availability, and technical claims are verified before publishing. Articles are updated when products change or new information surfaces.
- Updates: Guides are reviewed and refreshed on a regular cycle. If a product is discontinued, a price changes significantly, or a better option hits the market, we update accordingly.
