Epicenter Cycling - Santa Cruz

Pretty simple review. I like to buy parts for my bike repairs from local shops when I'm in the middle of a repair. I was recently rebuilding a fork., I needed a service kit. They had it in stock at the same price as the cheapest online. I went in, bought the part that day, I installed it and was happy I didn't need to wait for shipping of the parts. The salesperson was polite and efficient. This was for the Santa Cruz Store but I have had similar experiences with the Aptos location. Thanks

It pains me to write this review, because I have been going to this shop since I started cycling, but I have had several frustrating experiences in a row and feel as though I'm better off going to a new shop for service. I got a groupset swap at another shop, but the front derailleur was not torqued to spec (I didn't know this yet, and this shop would not be the informant), so I would have unreliable front shifting. unfortunately the first time i came here to get my brake pads replaced it was super easy and the people were friendly. the second time was an absolute nightmare. A relative dropped the bike off for me and they kept my e-bike for 2 weeks without calling while I was out of town. I my family member and I both called back and they said they ordered the brake pads but that they hadn’t arrived, but were expected by Friday. They said it would be absolutely ready by Monday since it was already late. ...

I went in here for a simple cap for my crank arm that fell off - not only did they have the part, and install it on the spot, Chris offered his expertise and tools for an assortment of other little things that I messed up in my journey as a diy guy and did so without judgement, nor did he stick me with a big bill. I'll definitely come back.

Rented a Trek Fuel EX 8 29 which was cool because I have the same bike. The staff was awesome. Super friendly and told me how to get to the good spots! Price wasn't the highest in town either.
