West Newton Bicycle Shop

Thank Goodness for West Newton Bicycle Shop and the owner Floyd!! They are open every day at a crucial part of the trail and they know what you need. We came in with a flat we had tried to fix with minimal knowledge and Floyd went the extra mile to find what we had missed and educate us on some extra flat fixing techniques. We are so grateful! They also have some great gear for sale if you’re missing anything you need for your trip.

We arrived at closing time but Floyd generously and expertly stayed open long enough to fix my bike. A godsend. We were riding the Gap Trail Cumberland to Pittsburgh and my gears were hopelessly failing. My bike is like brand new. Every community needs this kind of bike store. Highly, highly recommend.

I was riding my bike on the GAP trail when my front axle decided to explode. My front tire fell off of my bike and I ate dirt. I got up and found the closest bike shop. It was West Newton Bike Shop. I was about 4 miles away. They stayed open a few minutes late so I could arrive and get the part that I needed.. they really saved the day. My story sounds like a lot of these reviews. Floyd (?) saved my Pittsburgh to DC ride after I busted a spoke. He trouble shot and provide his honest assessment and options. I would've opted for the new rear wheel if they had one that met my needs, but he was able to fix my rear wheel and true it in an hour (as we ate at the Trailside above the shop).

Got a branch stuck in my back wheel, broke a spoke. Arrived in West Newton around 4. The owner took care of things for us going well beyond our hopes in fixing up my dated bike. I think the bike was ready to go at 5. Saved our GAP trip! Thank you!
