I went to Stone’s Cyclery to replace my bike tires and asked if I could also learn how to do it myself. John went above and beyond, not only is he incredibly knowledgeable, but he teaches with such patience and passion. He has a unique style that makes him truly stand out. You can tell he’s someone who brings real value to everything he does. That kind of lifelong dedication and curiosity is rare and honestly, inspiring. Grateful for the experience! Cheers!

I’ve been taking my Gunnar Roadie here since 2015. John is highly skilled and knowledgeable, he cares about bikes, and it shows in his work. He talks with me in such a way that I feel like I am learning about my bike and we are working on my bike together to customize it to my needs. I also bring my commuter (Giant Avail) here for maintenance as needed.

I have had numerious positive experiences here at Stone's Cyclery. John, who manages the shop, has been very knowledgeable and helpful with his service each and every time (on one experience he even took the time to teach me how to properly change a tire). Overall, I have been very happy using Stone's Cyclery as a goto repair shop.

I could say John was efficient, and knowledgeable, and after checking a couple other shops in Alameda, offered a very good price. But what I respected most, was his honesty. I had a desperate need for a wheel repair. He told me he'd try his best, "but in all fairness to the customers already in the service queue"..wasn't sure he could make it happen in time. That's integrity. In the end, he did make it happen..but that was a bonus. Having the good fortune to source an ethical, reliable, skill...

I thought I need to change my broken pedal but the owner fixed my pedal in less than ten minuets and it's been working perfectly fine. He fixed my brakes as well and overall the price was very reasonable. I also received some good health advice.
